Hello, I’m Sally
Greetings, I wanted to share a little bit about my relationship with my photography.
I’ve had a fascination with cameras since I was very little. My father was a photographer a hobby that took him around the world when he served in the United States Marine Corps. For 20+ years of his life. In his retirement days, I came a long and my earliest memories of his camera bag was him taking photos of me at the breakfast table.
The time I realized I too should pick up a camera, happened years later after his passing. When I began to figure out who I was in my journey through adolescence. I realized I preferred to be a quiet and observant person. I liked to create scenes in my mind, and in some cases the ones I wanted to remember I would attempt to draw-I was not very good at drawing. I tried writing down the words to describe the story or emotion. But depending on the situation, there were too many words or not enough.
So I begged my mother for my first camera, a digital point and shoot. But I did my best.
Over the years, I began to discover my preferred style of portraits. Which led to a deep appreciation for candid moments. And capturing people in thought.
I told myself when I grew up, I would be known for taking photos, and just like my dad always having my camera bag with me. Needless to say, I didn’t live up to that expectation - until I have more time to get into detail I’ll just blame technology and society.
But with this site now, I hope to be inspired more to leave my home with phone keys wallet and camera bag.
And return with photos, for myself and you to see :)
Well the world awaits!
